چکیده
Abstract Hydrometer method is the standard that normally used to determine fine particle size distributions for soil classification purposes. This study aims develop new enable quick determination of silt-clay distribution compared hydrometer requires procedure pretreatment and additional 24 hours required complete test. The various samples were collected from seven different locations including Sunway Carnival (Marine Clay), Suling Hills (Residual Jawi Quarry Kelantan River (River Batu Kawan Kaolin Clay Sungai Petani Clay). Three each site prepared three separation. Sample preparation testing repeated all locations. results silt clay obtained both experimental works analyze compatibility data. data analysis shows there are no significant differences (P > 0.05) between two methods in examined samples. indicates strong evidence support this research separation comparable method. Regression produced a coefficient (R-square) values 0.9912 respectively. straight-line equation generated gradient equal 0.8465, which close 1 stronger supports accuracy In conclusion, preliminary confirmed its reliability fraction with 99.12%

Mechanical properties of sand, silt, and clay containing tetrahydrofuran hydrate
[1] The mechanical behavior of hydrate-bearing sediments subjected to large strains has relevance for the stability of the seafloor and submarine slopes, drilling and coring operations, and the analysis of certain small-strain properties of these sediments (for example, seismic velocities). This study reports on the results of comprehensive axial compression triaxial tests conducted at up to 1 ...
متن کاملEffect of Soil Grain Size on the Geophysical Response of Graves: Clay Vs Silt Vs Sand
Non-invasive geophysical imaging of Maori ancestral burial sites (urupa) have allowed us to test when and where geophysical surveys are most likely to succeed. Results from five sites, with both marked and unmarked graves, in three coastal settings along the east coast of the South Island of New Zealand show that burials in clay and silt (loess) can be readily identified using geophysical techn...
متن کاملImproving the clay, silt and sand of soil prediction by removing the influence of moisture on reflectance using EPO
Moisture is one of the most important factors that affects soil reflectance spectra. Time and spatial variability of soil moisture leads to reducing the capability of spectroscopy in soil properties estimation. Developing a method that could lessen the effect of moisture on soil properly prediction using spectrometry, is necessary. This paper utilises an external parameter orthogonalisation (EP...
متن کاملHeterodera glycines Invasion and Reproduction on Soybean Grown in Clay and Silt Loam Soils.
The soybean cyst nematode (SCN), Heterodera glycines Ichinohe, is a severe pest of soybean, Glycine max (L.) Merr., in the United States. Nematode reproduction and the seed yield losses caused by this nematode are influenced by soil texture (3,5,6). Todd and Pearson (5) recovered higher numbers of SCN females and cysts from a sandy loam soil than from silty loams. Soybean yield also has been ne...
متن کاملConservation Tillage Systems for Corn Production on a Loessial Silt Loam and Alluvial Clay in Louisiana
Corn acreage has increased in recent years in Louisiana. Much of this is on mixed to heavy Mississippi River alluvial soils and to a lesser extent on loessial silt loams of the Macon Ridge. Each of these soil groups are unique in their phys ical and chemical characteristics and different management strategies may be required to produce optimal yield. Research has indicated that corn performs b...
